The Last of Us 2 Confirmed For Sony State of Play

Ahead of Sony's next State of Play livestream, Naughty Dog confirmed for The Last of Us Part II to show up.

Upon announcement of a new episode of State of Play presentation from Sony Interactive Entertainment set for September 24, many were hoping to see more of upcoming PlayStation 4 action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II.

For long, there has been no presence of the game or whatsoever in any of major video game media events of 2019 so far and then developer Naughty Dog made a Twitter announcement today that finally confirms TLoU2 to be part of it.

Earlier this year on March, Sony started rolling out Nintendo Direct-like video presentations featuring news of their upcoming high-profile exclusive releases and their next show will air on this Tuesday, 1:00 PM PDT/4:00 PM EDT.

The very same day on September 24, Naughty Dog is scheduled to host a press event in Los Angeles that will be focused on The Last of Us Part II among many other anticipated PS4 titles but what they are going to reveal is not clear yet.

Developers made a Tweet of a switchblade knife with a caption from protagonist Ellie to confirm TLoU2 for State of Play.

Back in April 2019, game director Neil Druckmann revealed on social media that motion capture shooting for The Last of Us sequel was finally wrapped and then a post at ResetEra forum claimed that the game will release in February 2020.

Holiday season for 2019 will see launch of PS4-exclusive Death Stranding from Hideo Kojima on November 8 and Final Fantasy VII Remake is scheduled for March 3, 2020, making February release window a perfect fit for TLoU2 to come out.

Sony will broadcast third episode livestream of their State of Play show over Facebook, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube channels. Some news regarding another action-adventure title Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch can also be on its way.

Naughty Dog is most likely to reveal an official release date for The Last of Us Part II with some new footage of gameplay or its story, which will keep players on PlayStation 4 busy until they wait for Death Stranding to come out in months.
