Three different movement styles are highlighted in these videos and one is teleport, which lets you move from one place to another. Continuous is traditional first-person style and shift locomotion style is zooming transition to locations.

Variation to player movements through a blend of shifting and regular maneuver is likely to minimize motion sickness while playing in VR. She even uses gravity gloves to catch grenades thrown at her to return them back to her attackers.

Alyx Vance takes on some Headcrab zombies and took them down by either shooting or using other tools at her disposal. When she entered an occupied City 17, there is a heated firefight between her and a group of Combine soldiers.

In terms of gameplay, HL: A displays its VR interactivity by having Alyx perform set of tasks, work with objects, solving puzzles etc. She is seen removing planks from a doorway and grabbing a car door to use as shield during gunfight.
