Naughty Dog just reached their first milestone for one of their biggest project in years, which is surrounded in controversy. TLOU2 game director Neil Druckmann has expressed his gratitude to millions of fans who played the game lately.

Although angry fans are venting frustration with memes and rants on dedicated sub-Reddit for The Last of Us Part 2, none of that negativity has affected sales in any way because there are many who are not aware of its "Leaked Story" yet.

The Last of Us first game has sold over 17 million copies across PlayStation 3 and 4 by April 2018. Given how amazing its predecessor title was in terms of both gameplay and narrative, success of its 2020 sequel was almost guaranteed.

Naughty Dog and Sony were almost certain of strong sales numbers for The Last of Us Part II. Most common complaints of many players are poor treatment of series protagonist Joel and a lousy story direction with new character Abby.
