A much-anticipated sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, upcoming action role-playing game Horizon Forbidden West from developer Guerrilla Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment had a release window set for second half of 2021.

Franchise fans that were looking forward to explore a dystopian future with protagonist Aloy may have to wait longer than previously expected as a recent rumor hints at a possible launch delay that postpones Forbidden West to next year.

A recent report says that a number of video games that were scheduled for 2021 release have now been pushed to 2022, according to Russian YouTuber Anton Logvinov, who has accurately leaked PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn in 2019.

Anton replied to a Tweet earlier that featured a list of games moved to 2022 including Destiny 2: The Witch Queen expansion, where he simply states "I would add Horizon to the top of that list", hinting at a possible delay for Forbidden West.

In a reply Tweet to chief editor of DTF, Anton Logvinov adds Horizon 2 as one of his top delayed games of 2021.

Only a few days ago, Sony president and CEO Jim Ryan assured everyone that Horizon II is fully on track for Q2 2021 launch. Since there has been no official confirmation of latest reports, it would be wise to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Another point to note is that, Horizon: Forbidden West largely absent from latest State of Play showcase event, which is a bit worrying. Guerrilla Games or Sony has yet to officially reveal if they are really moving Horizon sequel to next year.
