Battlefield 2042 Announced, Release Date Revealed

After last few months of leaks and rumors on next Battlefield game, fans were expecting for a confirmation from series creators and recently, a livestream is announced to go live worldwide from June 9, 7:00 AM PST/10:00 AM EDT.

In a recent livestream, developer EA DICE and Criterion Games, in association with publisher Electronic Arts officially reveals upcoming first-person shooter game Battlefield 2042, currently scheduled for release on October 22, 2021.

EA released a brand-new trailer showcasing all-out warfare of Battlefield 2042 and its near-future world.

Battlefield franchise is moving away from previous setting on World War and heading towards a technologically advanced future. Latest trailer has confirmed a number of early leaks regarding its near-future premise and few key-features.

Even though many were hoping for a Battlefield V follow-up, Battlefield 2042 takes place after Battlefield 1942 and before Battlefield 2142. From today's trailer, people may get a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare vibe due to futuristic settings.

In future, U.S.A. and Russia engages in a war after fall of many nations due to lack of resources, leading to a global refugee crisis. These people are recruited by both sides as stateless soldiers commonly known as Non-Patriated or No-Pats.

Create your custom-made squads using new Specialist system, which lets you choose from four Classes with unique specialty and trait. Almost everything from gadgets, loadout, weapons and vehicles are fully customizable to suit your need.

EA DICE is seemingly trying to appeal to series veterans by returning to modern-day warfare as they did with Battlefield 3 and 4. Despite many leaks, BF 2042 was able to surprise players with wingsuits and a release date that is very close.

However, newest Battlefield game won't feature any single-player campaign mode and will be multiplayer-only. Up to 128-players can join per match on PC and next-gen consoles, whereas current-gen player count is only limited to 64.

Despite bringing back many fan-favorite modes like Breakthrough and Conquest, BF 2042 is not adding a battle royale mode. All Out Warfare modes have much more to experience for teams on players can join alongside AI squadmates.

Players are to explore bigger maps set in locations like Antarctica, Egypt, French Guyana, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea and more. For a better look at its playable modes, a gameplay reveal is expected to happen soon on June 13, 2021.

There are real-time dynamic world events specific to maps like sandstorms, powerful tornadoes and space rocket launch that can totally change the course of an ongoing conflict depending on how you can take advantage of a situation.

Battlefield 2042 clearly embraces its intense moments where a soldier uses an ATV to crash it onto a helicopter to take it down, jumping out of a moving jet to shoot down enemy plane or massive tornados that can cause real havoc.

Electronic Arts currently plans on rolling out four seasons of content during post-launch period of BF 2042. Each new season will receive a new Battle Pass that includes new Specialists as well as new map locations over time for all players.

Battlefield 2042 will be arriving on October 22, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Players will be able to join a Beta program ahead of launch to get a taste of what to expect from BF 2042.
