Breath of the Wild 2 Release Window Possibly Teased by Industry Insider

Despite being reportedly teased by Geoff Keighley to get a major showcase during The Game Awards 2021 event, heavily-anticipated sequel to 2017 action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild did not show up.

Although an official title for Breath of the Wild sequel has not been confirmed yet by Nintendo, latest insider information claims that BotW 2 is currently being planned to be launched in late 2022 for Switch handheld and won't delay.

In a recent episode of IGN Games podcast, co-founder Peer Schneider revealed that he talked with a bunch of industry insiders at The Game Awards 2021, who assured that there isn't any development crisis regarding BotW sequel.

He stated that Nintendo may have skipped The Game Awards this year but that doesn't mean Breath of the Wild 2 is delayed. He mentioned that fans can expect a November 2022 release window that Nintendo has yet to announce.

IGN chief content officer Peer Schneider claims that Nintendo is getting ready to have a great year in 2022.

It does sound like Nintendo is going to have a pretty good year next year. So, I would not take the absence of big stuff (at The Game Awards) as a sign that maybe Breath of the Wild is delayed or that they don't have other stuff, because it sounds like... people at Nintendo are very excited about 2022.

Schneider spoke about a lack of large open-world games for Nintendo Switch this year, stating that it will "probably change next November when we're playing Breath of the Wild 2" and thus, inexplicably gave away its release window.

Nintendo usually releases their biggest games during holiday seasons and so, Breath of the Wild 2 having a November release makes sense. They even launched Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Remake this year, on holiday.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a launch title for Nintendo Switch consoles and one of the most popular series entries. Breath of the Wild 2 will follow similar gameplay styles and a much larger open-world setting to explore.

Nintendo teased a 2022 release window for Breath of the Wild sequel at E3 2021 Direct stream earlier but there was no definitive date. Although many took their absence at TGA as a sign for delay, looks like everything is right on track.
