The Witcher 3 Coming to Next-Gen Consoles

CD Projekt Red announces to release an enhanced version of The Witcher 3 for PC and next-gen consoles.

Arguably one of the most beloved and expansive action role-playing experience on current-gen systems, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from Polish developer/publisher CD Projekt Red wrapped up mainline Witcher game franchise back in 2015.

CD Projekt Red recently announced to release updated version of Witcher 3: Complete Edition for upcoming next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, which includes all campaign DLC packs, few technical upgrades and more.

Aside from The Witcher 3 base game, Complete Edition adds Blood and Wine, Hearts of Stone expansions and extra content. Moreover, there will be some technical improvements and visual upgrades ray tracing and faster loading times.

Next-generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released for a standalone purchase on PC, PS5 and Series X. Those who already bought a copy on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive a free upgrade for next-gen consoles.

Based on fantasy novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher series is focused on monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. Last year, a live-action TV adaptation starring actor Henry Cavill (Justice League, Man of Steel) was premiered for Netflix.

To make current-gen games accessible to next-gen, CD Projekt Red offered free upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 earlier. Back in March 2020, CDPR president Adam KiciƄski hinted to work on next entry in The Witcher series following CP2077.
