Marvel's Spider-Man Had Second Biggest Steam Launch After God of War (2018)

It took almost four years for 2018 superhero action-adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man from developer Insomniac Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment to end its exclusivity on PlayStation 4 consoles to release a PC version.

Only a day ago, Marvel's Spider-Man debuted on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, amassing an immersive player-count very quickly. It becomes Sony's second biggest PC launch so far right after God of War (2018) and Horizon Zero Dawn.


According to SteamDB website stats, Marvel's Spider-Man has reached a concurrent number of 64,893 players a day after PC launch. It is also a best-selling game on Steam globally, just ahead of indie action-adventure game Cult of the Lamb.

Marvel's Spider-Man launch week Steam numbers looks better than other Sony first-party titles on PC like Horizon Zero Dawn. It had an all-time peak of 56,557 players and managed to surpass Days Gone, which had 27,450 players on release.


Current stats at hand are from Steam only and they do not include sales numbers of Epic Games Store for Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered. Sony also announced to port Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC at some point later this year.
