In a recent collaboration, Ubisoft teamed up with Netflix for a crossover event with their Spanish-language crime drama series Money Heist, which is also known as "La Casa de Papel" but instead of a heist, there will be hostage rescue.

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Rumored to Reveal in February 2020

According to recent leaks, Ubisoft will reveal "Assassin's Creed Ragnarok" in February next year with a fall 2020 release window.

Following back-to-back release of Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, developer/publisher Ubisoft decided to skip 2019 from launching any new Assassin's Creed games in favor of post-launch support.

Some leaked information emerged recently on Reddit suggests that next installment of AC franchise is most likely to take place during Viking era and will be called "Assassin's Creed Ragnarok", similar to a rumor from May 2019.

RELATED: BioWare to Overhaul Anthem

According to that same leaked source, Ragnarok is going to be revealed at an upcoming PlayStation event next year in February, which may be a hint to State of Play livestream and will have a release window of fall 2020.

Ubisoft has apparently planned for a multi-platform release for the title across current and next generation of consoles. Its map location will set around big part of England and Scandinavia, including London and Plimouth city.

RELATED: Bleeding Edge Release Date

Players would be given choice to pick a male or female Assassin named Jora, with a plot revolving on revenge throughout first civilization and Norse mythology for a major part with some ties to both Origins and Odyssey.

Protagonist character may explore realms of Asgard and Jottuneim while meeting legendary beings like Loki and Odin. In terms of gameplay, Ragnarok will follow general mechanics of Odyssey with more improvements and role-playing aspects.

RELATED: Rust Announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Developers are intending to bring back and implement beloved NPC recruitment system from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. You can use a boat for travel but there will be less naval fights than Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag or Odyssey.

A couple of inconsistency in this leak raise question about authenticity of its source with one such example being Ragnarok taking place on circa 800 B.C. but Vikings did not come to England until 793 A.D., almost after 1600 years.

RELATED: Wasteland 3 Release Date

Whether or not this leak is accurate, it could simply be a typo as 800 A.D. is pretty close to when it happened in real-world. It could also be a mix up from leaked data of upcoming open-world action adventure game Gods & Monsters.

Earlier this year, a rumor claimed for next AC game to be titled "Assassin's Creed Legion" with a set release window of 2020 and set entirely on Rome, instead of feudal Japan or China like many fans have heavily speculated in past.

RELATED: Netflix's The Witcher Season 2 Confirmed

Based on early leaks, Legion is more suited to be next Assassin's Creed game in a trilogy that would carry the legacy of Origins and Odyssey. When it is finally out, AC series can easily proceed to a new direction with a new title or a saga.

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok was previously codenamed "Kingdom" and it would presumably kick-start another trilogy in Assassin's Creed annual action-adventure stealth game series delved into mythical stories for coming years after Legion.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Title Update Live Now

Ubisoft launches first of two title updates for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint with much more yet to be done.

After miserably failing short on player expectations with tactical shooter game Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, developer/publisher Ubisoft saw a major drop in market share due to outrage and halted some of their upcoming releases.

Trying to work on their shortcomings and deliver a better gameplay experience, they planned out a long roadmap. Today, first of two major patch, Title Update 1.0.3 has been deployed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

This latest update came with a slew of bug fixes, improvements and biggest since Breakpoint launch. Ubisoft asked their fans to take part in their official survey and provide necessary feedbacks on what change are they looking for.

One of the major issues bothering players was drone behavior, which has been addressed alongside an issue of respawning under map. Some basic adjustment was made to PvP mode "Ghost War" like cooldown system and interaction.

RELATED: Ghost Recon: Wildlands Adds Mercenaries Mode

Mostly, gameplay features that made Ghost Recon: Wildlands great are among top requested changes. Stamina recovery system just got a lot better and switching side to change position while taking cover is now allowed.

Two new faction missions "Ease the Pain" and "A Deadly Trap" is added on top of fixes for animation bug, AI behavior and audio issues. Another title update is set to arrive later this month and will bring more optimizations for GRB.

RELATED: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Micro-Transactions Issues

Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot admitted earlier that player community rejected Breakpoint for loot grind and some other issues. They are trying to turn it into a decent open-world Tom Clancy shooter game that fans originally expected.

There is lot more to change regarding its progression and hopefully, developers will take that into consideration. Although already launched on all major platforms, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has yet to release on Google Stadia later this month.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Micro-Transactions Issues

Shortly ahead of launch, Tom Clancy shooter title Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is revealed to be riddled with micro-transactions.

When developer/publisher Ubisoft officially announced their latest tactical shooter title Ghost Recon: Breakpoint to release on October 4, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, fans of Ghost Recon series really hyped up.

However, that excitement died down real quick even before it was launched when some players discovered predatory micro-transaction structure being present in Breakpoint during pre-release period and shared on social media.

Only days before going live, people who bought Gold, Ultimate or Wolves Collector's Editions of Breakpoint discovered that there is a trail of micro-transaction, veiled as "time-savers" that shouldn't be on a full-priced AAA-title at all.

Almost all items available in-store is acquirable through in-game currency known as Skell Credits, which you can generally find in chests or dropped by dead enemies but you can also spend real-world money to buy them.

Titles that support both in-game and premium currency usually separate their cosmetics items from performance, so that it would not affect the gameplay experience for anyone and only cosmetics are up for sell through cash.

Breakpoint store sells everything for Skell Credits and they are exchangeable with Ghost Points, which can be purchased with money. Therefore, those who are willing to spend money will gain everything while the others will keep grinding.

Initially, character progression items as crafting materials, skill points and even XP bonuses were up for sale, causing quite a stir among fans. Ubisoft quickly backed out by removing those from store and released a statement by calling it a mistake.

Regardless of them taking a step back, developers did try to prey upon player base where they would offer them "time-savers", so that they will not have to go looking for crafting materials or weapons across the map if they pay some cash.

Of course, you can buy cosmetic items for Ghost Points as well but that simply doesn't diminish the fact that they are all exchangeable with Skell Credits. So, players can literally purchase anything in-game with money in a way or other.

Letting people buy some advantage clearly will not allow someone to be an unstoppable force of nature in co-operative mode and secure victory though, even if it means someone is ready to spend a heap of cash to make that happen.

RELATED: Killing Floor 2: Grim Treatments Update Live Now

In past, Ghost Recon: Wildlands would offer boosters, supplies and skill points for sale only to garner unfavorable reviews from players. Despite their claim to offer fair and rewarding experience, Ubisoft tried to pull the same trick with GRB.

Weapons slightly above your current level will be on store for sale and every other major core stats need crafting for improvement. When you are on GR: Breakpoint PvP mode Ghost War, it will automatically adjust everyone's stats for fair play.

Players can at best skip the grind using premium currency at their disposal and in case of a stealth-based game, that is where the fun is at. Essentially, you cheat out of entire gameplay aesthetic and save time in expense of your wallet.

Official statement from a community manager tries to clarify that those "time-savers" weren't supposed to be there and removed quickly. In fact, these items were planned to be included at a later point in Breakpoint post-launch content release.

Apparently, development team was adamant that they won't add any pay-to-win elements or whatsoever that can affect experience, yet they end up doing something completely opposite of what they claim to believe in.

There was a lot of potential in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint to become a staple example of its respective genre but due to Ubisoft being greedy with its micro-transaction system like Activision and Electronic Arts, that hope is gone now.
