Undoubtedly, NEXT is so far the biggest update ever to hit the game and we are about to talk about what are the studio adding to it. Multiplayer aspect is very much co-op focused where you can gather your band, build base, go on missions, race against each other and share your resources, which is basically helping your neighbor out. You don't have to start again to explore all that, if you have a save file where you have already spent long hours, you are good to go from your existing play.

Players can still choose to play single player and get into a PvP fight when come across other random strangers, which isn't much weird as the game already have pirates and sentinels to antagonize you. In this particular case, they are real people. Four different difficulty settings: normal, survival, permadeath and creative to create interesting in-game moments. Aside from multiplayer features, Hello Games has plan for content drops, new rewards and free weekly missions.

The studio has improved AI for sentinels and whereas you could run away from an encounter, you may get chased by a herd of them now. Your very lonely experience in this infinite universe has suddenly become exciting and entire gameplay experience is changed with some reinvention. Since there are no loot boxes or micro-transactions, players can use in-game currency earned by taking part in community events and get some cool gears, helmets or emotes for them.
