One of the shocking events in the gaming industry this year was probably when we learned about developer/publisher Telltale Games is shutting down after laying off majority of their workforce, which also meant that many of our beloved series will never see light.

Around that time, Telltale's Walking Dead: The Final Season was halfway in development. However, The Walking Dead comic-book creator Robert Kirkman (Haunt, Invincible) announced at New York Comic Con 2018 that his company Skybound Games will complete the remaining episodes.

Skybound took responsibility of the final two episodes and brought in the original developers who previously worked on the series to complete the project. Epic Games came forward to help putting the original team back together to give fans what they want.

Now that Epic has become the exclusive platform to serve the third and fourth episode of the game on PC, it is not going to be available in other storefronts like Humble Store or Steam anymore unlike the previous seasons.

In a rapid-fire fashion, Hutchison let fans know that the previously downloaded versions of all three seasons will still be playable and choices can be carried over to The Final Season as long as you can retrieve them locally or have a cloud save on Telltale.

When they will be able to arrange sales for physical copies, the news will be shared on their social handles for fans to know. In time, they will also announce the launch date for the season on Android and iOS devices as well.

They way Telltale Games have closed its door on their employees was really a dick move. Plus, we will probably never see another season of Batman: The Telltale Series, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and The Wolf Among Us, because no one is working on them.

Skybound Games stepping up to ensure a proper sendoff to the series and give a deserving conclusion to Clementine was truly commendable. Similarly, Epic Games Store made a smart move by partnering up is this initiative through their digital distribution platform.
