Crash Team Racing Remastered Customization Revealed

Customization feature is coming to kart racing game Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled for carts and characters.

Seeing an impressive success upon releasing Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a bundle of remastered games from Crash Bandicoot series in recent years, publisher Activision set their sight on Crash Team Racing as their next project.

Originally developed by Naughty Dog, the popular kart racing game is now titled Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and being entirely reworked by Beenox, who are introducing cart and character customization in CTR for the first time.

Nitro-Fueled does not simply take you on different tracks for racing while aiding with power-ups and speed boosters but it will feature a variety of customization options for your carts and characters to add more personal touch.

You will be able to change cart bodies, apply paint jobs, add stickers and even alter wheels. Character skins from N. Sane Trilogy to customize appearances of your racers are also available as well as new victory animations.

Earning customization items would require players to playthrough Adventure Mode of the game and collect Wumpa coins. Character stats like beginner, intermediate and advanced racing classes would also be accessible.

CTR features various known characters from Crash Bandicoot universe and players are allowed to pick one among 15 of them to save the planet from utter destruction by racing in carts up against villainous Nitros Oxide.

N. Sane Trilogy ended up selling over 10 million copies by 2019 and became a fastest-selling game on Switch. Activision is planning to release a new Crash Bandicoot game within a few years and therefore, wants to re-introduce the franchise in advance.

Announced back at The Game Awards 2018, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is scheduled to release on June 21, 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Though release on PC platform is not announced yet, we can only hope for it to come later sometime.
