Monster Hunter: World Comes to Resident Evil

Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil series is crossing over with Monster Hunter: World in upcoming event.

According to an annual sales report, developer/publisher Capcom has doubled their profit this year through revenue from digital downloads. Two of their biggest contributors for such growth are Monster Hunter: World and Resident Evil 2.

While every other major AAA-title is currently prepping up for their upcoming Halloween events, Capcom will be joining a bit late with their upcoming Monster Hunter: World X Resident Evil crossover event on November 2019.

Lately, action role-playing game Monster Hunter: World has launched its first major expansion Iceborne for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Also, early 2019 saw most-anticipated release of survival horror game Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Resident Evil series protagonists Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy are very good at slaying monster for survival. Therefore, Capcom had this interesting idea of picking them up from Raccoon City and throw into "New World".

Fan-favorite 4th survivor, To-fu will likely to be added as a cosmetic alongside other themed unlocks. Zombies are most probably are going to be a part to play as rival Hunters other than some sort of environmental distraction.

The trailer suggests that Hunters will be able to wear Claire and Leon skins aside from a Handler skin of terrifying Tyrant boss, Mr. X. Also, Iceborne expansion will be receiving a free update for a new volcanic area on October 10, 2019.

Following launch, MHW has cross-promotion with franchises like Mega Man and Street Fighter. Other third-party collaborations include Assassin's Creed series, Final Fantasy XIV, Horizon Zero Dawn and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Capcom has yet to announce a definitive release date for Monster Hunter: World X Resident Evil seasonal event and how long it is going to last. Whether or not this limited time crossover will come to PC is yet to confirm officially.
