The Last of Us 2 Grounded Difficulty Unlocks Joel Easter Egg
Players found newly added secret Easter egg for Grounded difficulty during The Last of Us Part II end credits.

Grounded mode radically amplifies overall difficulty for TLoU2 by making enemies smarter than ever, removes in-game HUD, limiting collectibles. Latest patch also adds a permadeath mode, where all of your progress is gone once you die.
Despite all odds, players were able to complete The Last of Us sequel on Grounded difficulty and was rewarded with a cool Easter egg of Joel Miller performing on 2013 hard rock song "Future Days" by Pearl Jam throughout end credits.

Twitter user BeingHuman1993 has shared this Easter egg on social media after finishing a run on Grounded.

This especially is notable as an emotional callback from an early scene where Joel gifts Ellie a guitar and then sings only part of the song. Also, beating TLoU2 on permadeath will have him singing "Through The Valley" by Shawn James.

Even after abundance of criticism, PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to break sales records and keeping players busy.
Naughty Dog has introduced new Grounded difficulty mode for The Last of Us 2 in a recent free update and players have already discovered an Easter egg during end credits upon completing entire game in newly added difficulty settings.
