Detroit: Become Human Dev Reportedly Working on New Star Wars Game

Fans of Star Wars franchise are on a roll lately as Lucasfilm Games announces a new Star Wars game being in works at developer/publisher Ubisoft earlier this year and recently revealed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

A recent report claims that Disney has signed a new contract with Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream to work on a Star Wars game, now that their three-game exclusive deal with Sony has finally expired.

After wrapping up their PlayStation-exclusive deal for three interactive games, Quantic Dream teams up with Disney for their upcoming adventure across a Galaxy Far, Far, Away, according to a recent report by French YouTuber Gautoz.

Popular industry insider Tom Henderson also supported this claim on social media by sharing a cryptic image of two Lightsabers is placed on Detroit: Become Human antagonist Daniel, hinting at possibility of a brand-new Star Wars game.

Known leaker Tom Henderson has taken Twitter to share and obscurely teasing at a new Star Wars project.

Paris-based studio Quantic Dream led by French game designer/writer David Cage became an independent company in February 2020. They are largely known for narrative-based stories and branching paths that led to multiple endings.

Lucasfilm Games has signaled an end to their exclusivity deal with Electronic Arts after officially revealing a partnership with Ubisoft. They have coined this decision to be "a new direction" and encouraged other studios to pitch new ideas.

For future unannounced games, Quantic Dream plans to target multi-platform releases since partnership with Sony has ended and it will be interesting to see them exploring Light and Dark sides of the Force within Star Wars universe.

Despite rumors from reputed sources, Disney and Quantic Dream have yet to confirm whether these claims are actually true or not. Earlier this year, Quantic Dream has opened a new studio in MontrĂ©al, Canada, expanding out of France.
