Nintendo Direct February 2022

There have been multiple reports of a new episode of Nintendo Direct back in January as well as this month and Nintendo has recently confirmed an official premiere date for their newest showcase for upcoming Nintendo Switch titles.

Nintendo showcased a new Fire Emblem game, a previously reported Chrono Cross remaster and hotly-anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles 3, streamed live today across Twitch, Twitter and YouTube channels at 2:00 PM PDT/5:00 PM EDT.

Newest lineup of upcoming Switch games was announced today in a 40-minute long Nintendo Direct broadcast.

A sequel to Fire Emblem Warriors, action role-playing game Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes by developer Omega Force and Team Ninja is currently available for pre-order and set to launch for Nintendo Switch consoles on June 24, 2022.

Three Hopes will bring back fan-favorite characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses for an all-new story and replaces tactical role-playing with third-person action combat using a variety of weapons each mission, across new world maps.

After being delayed last year, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was listed on Nintendo eShop later with a release date. Re-Boot Camp is remake of original Game Boy Advance versions, set to arrive for Switch handheld on April 8, 2022.

Exploring galaxies across major consoles, developer/publisher Hello Games team has been busy working on a Switch version of 2016 space exploration and survival game No Man's Sky for long, which is expected to release soon this summer.

During an interview last year, Xenoblade Chronicles' voice actor Jenna Coleman accidentally let it slip that a third game is maybe in works. Monolith Soft and Nintendo finally revealed it today, scheduled for September 2022 launch window.

Xenoblade 3 story features protagonists Noah and Mio amidst a war between hostile nations of Agnus and Keves in a distant future. Many fan-favorite characters from previous series titles will make a return, including Princess Melia Antiqua.

Recent broadcast of Nintendo Direct had no mention of a rumored Mario Kart 9 and sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Fans were also hoping to see a new Bayonetta 3 gameplay footage ahead of its scheduled Switch release for 2022.

Nintendo heavily focuses on a lineup of third-party titles coming to Nintendo Switch handheld throughout this year. Hopefully their next presentation will likely feature more news regarding launch date of BoTW2, rumored for November.
