Hogwarts Legacy Delayed to February 2023

Set in the world of Harry Potter universe, upcoming action role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy by developer Avalanche Software and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has all Wizarding World fans eagerly waiting for release.

Other than a holiday 2022 release window revealed in a State of Play showcase earlier, no set date for Hogwarts Legacy was revealed so far and players may have to wait a little longer since the game has now been delayed to February 2023.


In a latest social media post, Avalanche Software has announced to delay Hogwarts Legacy for next year with a set date of February 10, 2023. Regardless of an unexpected postponement, it received a definitive release date for the first time.

Avalanche community manager Chandler Wood explained in a short video that dev team needs a bit more time to deliver best possible Wizarding World experience through Hogwarts Legacy and therefore, they had to push it over to Q1 2023.

Earlier this year, a report from insider Colin Moriarty that claimed upcoming highly-anticipated Harry Potter RPG could get delayed to next year but Warner Bros. executives continues to tease Hogwarts Legacy as one of the major 2022 release.

Hogwarts Legacy will be releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms next year. WB Games also confirmed a Nintendo Switch handheld version and its possible release date will be announced very soon.
