Red Dead Redemption Remake Reportedly Coming in 2021

According to a leak on 4chan, Rockstar Games to announce Red Dead Redemption Remake soon for next year.

In recent years, developer/publisher Rockstar Games has focused majority their efforts to support Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online after 2018 release of Western action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption 2.

With no upcoming new game release scheduled for anytime soon, a recent 4chan post claims that Rockstar is planning to announce Red Dead Redemption Remake this year, which has an expected release window of Q1 or Q2 2020.

Leaked source also states that original RDR will be a complete remake on an improved RAGE engine used for Red Dead Redemption 2. There will be few advanced mechanics for fishing and hunting with inclusion of a few new missions.

Rockstar can also sneak in some reference of protagonist Arthur Morgan by simply mentioning his name in remake of Red Dead Redemption since it is a sequel to RDR2 after all and at this point, his presence is certain in prequel game.

Voice actors from 2010 release of RDR are brought back, especially Rob Wiethoff, who voiced for John Marston. Rockstar Games is reportedly working on versions for PC as well as next-gen console PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Rockstar may already be working on a Mexico expansion for Red Dead Online to honor RDR Remake. Instead of a 4K remaster, a full remake was planned that includes Undead Nightmare and was developed by Rockstar India.

Red Dead Redemption originally debuted back in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Although Rockstar never released a PlayStation 4 version, RDR is a backward compatible title on Xbox One that currently runs on 4K resolution.

Rockstar Games will probably charge only $39.99 for Red Dead Redemption Remake when it is finally available for purchase. 4chan leak also reveals that highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI will not be announced until summer 2022.

The Last of Us Part 2 Survivor Difficulty Will Be a Brutal Experience

Naughty Dog is pushing "Survivor" difficulty for The Last of Us Part II to be an experience of violent brutality.

Despite a massive story leak earlier, developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment are focused to deliver an unforgettable gameplay experience through upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive The Last of Us Part II.

Regardless of which difficulty levels are you going to take to play The Last of Us sequel, your playthrough will be tensed. If someone ends up choosing Survivor difficulty, Ellie will be forced to rely on brutal methods of survival more often.

Sony showcased an extended TLoU2 gameplay footage in recent State of Play episode, which highlighted on many in-game aspects. However, details on available difficulty setting have not been explored in official video commentary.

If you decide to pick up highest difficulty setting "Survivor", expect every threat around you to be dialed to eleven. Ellie will be in life-or-death situations so frequently that there will be no time for moral judgment over her own survival.

RELATED: The Last of Us 2 Banned in Middle East

When playing on regular difficulty levels, players will have a list of choices for taking down an enemy or avoid killing them altogether. In Survivor mode, you barely get a chance to choose whether to pick melee weapons or use firearms.

A previous gameplay demo had a statement from developer team that players are not required to kill guard dogs to make progress but "Survivor" setting most likely will force you to choose between you or a rabid canine after your life.

In her playthrough section in Seattle, protagonist Ellie would come across a number of WLF members looking for her. You can either employ stealth or engage in combat to find out that enemy AI will reach much faster than typical.

Ellie has now learned how to swim and can impressively hold her breath underwater for 16 seconds. Swimming into basement of an enemy camp, she meets a guard playing Hotline Miami on her PlayStation Vita, whom she kills afterwards.

Stabbing her throat is just a beginning of a killing-spree of WLF associates she will encounter in next enemy spawn positions. Having enough ammo and supplies at your disposal will allow you to use throwable items like molotov cocktails.

You can plan on sneaking up on someone without anyone noticing and hide behind grasses but beware of them having looking back. One wrong move is made and you are about to get your head blown or getting chopped by machete.

The Last of Us Part II Outsold Marvel's Spider-Man in Pre-Orders

PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan claims The Last of Us Part II outselling Marvel's Spider-Man pre-orders in Europe.

Though there is a series of controversies that developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment are dealing lately regarding upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive The Last of Us Part II, fans are still excited for its launch.

Sony had to postpone release of The Last of Us sequel last month only to make it available once again with a new release date of June 19, 2020 and according to report, pre-orders for TLoU2 in Europe have already surpassed Marvel's Spider-Man.

Sony's PlayStation division President and CEO Jim Ryan states demand for The Last of Us 2 is more than 2018 super-hero game at this point. Marvel's Spider-Man was also a PS4-exclusive and sold over 13 million units by August 2019.

Ryan believes post-apocalyptic survival game TLoU2 could be a defining experience for current- generation and without confirming a visually updated version, he assures same version of the game will run on next-gen Sony console as well.

Even though compared in estimate sales numbers, Spider-Man game on PS4 and The Last of Us sequel are from different genre. Insomniac's super-hero adventure was for teenager audience and TLoU2 is targeted for mature demographic.

Naughty Dog has implied and heavily marketed their most ambitious project yet as brutally realistic and full of violence. Also, they have many suggestive themes that may be a matter of concern to many parents and sensitive players.

Despite many are waiting for this holiday season to see release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, players have a lot to look forward to in terms of exclusives like Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II from current-gen consoles.

Ahead of The Last of Us Part II release next month, Sony has planned for a PlayStation 5 reveal event on June 4, 2020. TLoU2 may get a small promo on stage alongside expected showcase video for upcoming new PS5-exclusive titles.

New Star Wars Game May be Revealed Next Week

EA Motive joins Twitter only to spark rumors of next Star Wars game online, which is likely to reveal next week.

After barely surviving loot box controversy back in 2017 for action shooter title Star Wars Battlefront II, developer Respawn Entertainment has saved face for publisher Electronic Arts with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order last year.

A sequel to Fallen Order has already been greenlit and recent Reddit threads full of teases from industry reporters hints that EA is very much likely to reveal their next Star Wars project sooner than you think, probably in June 2020.

In early March, an accidental leak at PlayStation Network revealed an image for Star Wars: Project Maverick, which was eventually deleted from PSN shortly afterwards and Electronic Arts neither confirmed nor denied about the game.

Many are speculating that Project Maverick will be showcased at upcoming PlayStation 5 reveal event on June 4, 2020. However, since Disney or EA has not officially confirmed anything yet, fans would be wise to take it with a grain of salt.

Battlefront II co-developer and Canada based studio EA Motive has joined Twitter lately and journalist Jason Schreier replied to their first Tweet, hinting that they are probably getting ready for a new game announcement soon.

Schreier also stated that Motive will soon be revealing a new Star Wars game in his follow-up Tweet. He linked to an article from February about a cancelled Battlefront spin-off game from last year that they are currently working on.

Schreier pointed out to focus on last paragraph of his article where he wrote about EA Motive handling an unusual project for next generation of consoles that was originally codenamed Viking, now known as Star Wars: Project Maverick.

Jeff Grubb offered another piece of that puzzle by sharing his Summer Game Mess schedule full of upcoming game announcements and digital events on Twitter, where he cryptically lists "Mel Gibson picture" entry for June 2, 2020.

TLoU2 game director Neil Druckmann breaks down gameplay details and story experience in an extended video.

State of Play broadcast begins with a flashback to previous events and then moves to previously shown footage from The Last of Us 2. A couple of years after first game, Ellie have moved with a community of survivors in Jackson, Wyoming.

They were able to find peace and safety behind town walls from horrors of a global pandemic. Ellie has grown up to be on her own and even found love within her community until everything was ruined all of a sudden by a tragic event.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 to Feature Nudity & Sexual Content

She begins her latest journey looking for justice and revenge, which takes her to unforeseen parts of outside world, voyaging though various weather conditions and different seasons that were not explored before in 2013 predecessor title.

Part II has added new traversal mechanics that will allow Ellie to climb, jump over gaps and even use ropes to scale or swing over. This way, she can access to new areas for a greater exploration, find resources or avoid threats.

RELATED: Neil Druckmann Talks The Last of Us Inspiration

She can cover a most part of a vast open-world on horseback and sometime she requires riding a boat to go past flooded streets. In her quest to seek retribution, she would come across human enemies, guard dogs and infected creatures.

A huge part of story premise takes place in Seattle, which was formerly a quarantine zone and has now become a warzone for its former residents. Members of two surviving fractions are constantly fighting over control of land and resources.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Story Trailer

One of these groups is a militia force named Washington Liberation Front or simply known as WLF for short. They fought military occupation in early days of pandemic and were able to gain control over Seattle but still wary of trespassers.

Then there is a fanatical religious cult calling themselves Seraphites or Scars, also fighting for territory and living among themselves. These guys are brutal in their ways, prefers to be very stealthy when they go out and roam in groups.

RELATED: Naughty Dog Needs to Work on Its Crunch Culture

Alongside these murdering sects, the deadly threat of Cordyceps infected creatures is still out there to take you out if you are not ready. Aside from Clickers, Runners and Stalkers, TLoU2 introduces a new enemy type called Shamblers.

These heavily armored beings are overly mutated threats that will spread out corrosive spores that can burn you. Druckmann mentions of one more lethal enemy class in his narration that has been kept in reserve to discover upon launch.

More details on various gameplay mechanics such as combat, crafting, listen mode, skill tree development, senses, stealth and other aspects that were discussed in early videos are given a through breakdown by game director himself.

Hiding under tall grasses is an easy cover but enemies can easily find you when they are in close proximity. If you get surrounded, running away is a better way to avoid being mobbed and then slowly establish cover to come up with new plan.

RELATED: Sony Claimed to Have Identified The Last of Us 2 Leaker

Otherwise, Ellie can choose to fight back as she is more agile than most enemies and has a number of weapons to defend herself. She can place a perfect shot or use any throwable items to stun them before finally taking them down.

Although she can take care of herself, Ellie will be backed up by her lover Dina or friend Jesse in few of her missions. In presence of multiple types of enemies, you need to come up with new strategy of approach or pit them against each other.

RELATED: Sony Shuts Down Last of Us 2 Criticism With DMCA Takedown

In an extended gameplay sequence, Ellie explores around Seattle by swimming and ends up in a WLF territory. She sneaks up on a girl from enemy camp playing on her PlayStation Vita and kills her shortly afterwards by stabbing in her throat.

On her way to enter nearby compound she kills a bunch of guards, displaying previously discussed features. She even drops a molotov cocktail on an unsuspecting WLF member and her guard dog, potentially burning them both alive.

It appears that previous 4Chan leak claiming The Last of Us sequel would be a "Revenge Story" against a cult was accurate on a few things about Seraphites and WLF but fans will have to wait till its release to see if all those rumors were true.

Throughout 23-minutes long State of Play episode for The Last of Us Part II deep-dives into many gameplay elements that largely emphasize on a unique playthrough experience that can still interest of many players despite early leaks.

The Last of Us 2 Banned in Middle East

Shortly ahead of launch, The Last of Us Part II has been banned from release in several Middle Eastern countries.

Only less than a month away from release on June 19, 2020, developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment are still facing trouble regarding launch of upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive title The Last of Us Part II.

A recent post on Reddit by user Ghostechful reveals that The Last of Us 2 has apparently been banned by and will not be officially released on a few select countries in Middle East, most notably in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

PS4 players can still purchase avatars and dynamic themes for TLoU2 on regional PlayStation Store but looking up for The Last of Us Part II only shows original PlayStation 3 version of The Last of Us and its 2014 PS4 remaster in search result.

PlayStation Support stated, any game not appearing in a regional store means it is banned by authorities of the country. However, Twitter account for PlayStation Arabia is still promoting upcoming State of Play episode focused on TLoU2.

Regions in Middle East are known for being less tolerant LGBT themes compared to Western countries and many works of art often gets banned. Recently, Disney/Pixar fantasy-adventure film Onward got banned for a gay relationship reference.

Although no apparent reason for banning was revealed by authority yet, many are assuming that TLoU protagonist Ellie being openly a gay character, her relationship with Dina and having some LGBT themes overall could be a major reason.

RELATED: Naughty Dog Needs to Work on Its Crunch Culture

The Last of Us II is rated by ESRB for having "Nudity and Sexual" content but so does upcoming long-anticipated action RPG title Cyberpunk 2077, which is still available on stores for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates right now.

Given both of these titles features adult elements that are somewhat similar in themes; nudity was never an issue for this ban. The Last of Us heavily centers on LGBT representation, whereas CP 2077 lets players to choose their orientation.

RELATED: The Last of Us 2 Rumoredly is Revenge Story Against Homophobic Cult

Ever since gameplay reveal trailer for The Last of Us II came out during E3 2018 event, people in KSA and UAE were shocked seeing the lesbian kissing scene between Ellie and Dina as many of them were not aware of Left Behind follow-up DLC.

Players in Middle East were expecting a ban from Saudi Arabia authority GCAM (General Commission for Audiovisual Media) but it will not have any effect to many since they can simply import copies of the game from other countries.

RELATED: The Last of Us Part 2 Story Leaked

Only affected parties are those who rely on digital purchase from local PSN stores and major official retail outlets. Small shops can still import enough stock from nearby gulf countries though or even from Europe and United States.

Naughty Dog and Sony is taking enough fire from fans already for ruining their experience of The Last of Us Part II following a disastrous story leak, which may hurt sales to a greater degree and now they are slammed with a regional ban.
