Xbox Game Pass to Add Destiny 2

Bungie will be adding Destiny 2 to Xbox Game Pass this September, with access to all current expansions.

Over the years, developer/publisher Bungie added a host of content to 2017 online multiplayer shooter Destiny 2 since launch. Following recent legacy of Forsaken and Shadowkeep, a new expansion, Beyond Light will arrive on November 10.

A joint announcement from Bungie and Microsoft came in recently at Xbox Games Showcase, revealing Destiny 2 will become available for members of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Series X, with all its expansions including Beyond Light.

During Xbox digital event, Bungie released a new video for upcoming Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light plans to take players to icy moon of Jupiter, which is a new location called Europa. A new sub-class Stasis gets introduced to Guardians along with elemental power of Darkness and new raid Deep Stone Crypt.

Another playable location Cosmodrome will be back on Earth for players to take part in Vault of Glass raid from original Destiny. Soon as Beyond Light launches, Bungie will temporarily move several activities and location into a content vault.

Game Pass members will get access to all current D2 expansions from September and Beyond Light will join at launch in November. An optimized version of Destiny 2 will run in 4K resolution and at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X.

Bungie intends to support cross-generation play for D2 and ensure you playing the best version of the game using Smart Delivery. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can experience Destiny 2 remotely on their phone or tablet via Project xCloud.

You may want to purchase Season of Arrivals or Season of the Worthy separately for all content as Game Pass only gives you access to standard editions of early D2 expansions like Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken and Shadowkeep DLC.

Even if you don't have a subscription to Xbox Game Pass, a free-to-play version titled Destiny 2: New Light has been made available since 2019. Bungie chose to move with Microsoft lately after spending previous generation with PlayStation.
