Original announcement for a DLC expansion of 2017 classic run-and-gun action game Cuphead by developer/publisher Studio MDHR at E3 2018 had a release window set for 2019 but it was delayed for another year to avoid crunch time.

By end of last year, MDHR had to make further delay after worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and during The Game Awards 2021 event, Cuphead: Delicious Last Course DLC has been revealed to be launched for all platforms on June 30, 2022.

Studio MDHR announces a release date for Cuphead DLC in newly revealed stop-motion trailer at TGA 2021.

To further expand Cuphead experience, MDHR will be adding a brand-new playable character Ms. Chalice. She will join alongside Cuphead and Mugman in their misadventures with her new abilities, magical charms and unique movesets.

These three will explore D.L.C. Isle and come across even more bizarre bosses than they faced before. Delicious Last Course DLC offers your characters fresh new charms and weapons to help you win over challenges and break old records.

In a secret quest, Cuphead and Mugman heads over to coasts of Inkwell Isles on behalf of jolly Chef Saltbaker. At the center of their latest adventure is Ms. Chalice, a recurring character you may know from mausoleum stage of Cuphead.

Previously known as Legendary Chalice, she takes a new form in Delicious Last Course DLC and packs a punch of her own. Studio MDHR designed Ms. Chalice with distinctive abilities that let players beat mighty bosses in lots of new ways.

MDHR added more frames of animation for single phase of new bosses for Cuphead: Delicious Last Course DLC than a full boss battle of original Cuphead and dev team has never considered compromising on quality despite circumstance.

Cuphead debuted on PC via GOG and Steam as well as Xbox One in 2017, followed by Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 release lately. An animated series, The Cuphead Show! is currently in works at Netflix to be globally premiered soon.
