The Last of Us Remake May Release in Holiday 2022

It was reported by Bloomberg last year that a remake of 2013 action-adventure game The Last of Us for PlayStation 5 was in works at PlayStation's Visual Arts Service Group before developer Naughty Dog took over entire project in 2020.

Earlier this year, known insider Tom Henderson claimed that TLoU Remake for PS5 may launch along with The Last of Us Part II: Director's Cut in second half of 2022 and another latest report also corroborates on a rumored 2022 release.

Showing up at Kinda Funny Gamescast recently, VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb revealed that he heard from multiple sources about The Last of Us Remake may be coming out later this year on PS5 consoles, possibly by the end of 2022.

Although there is no official announcement by Naughty Dog or Sony yet, Grubb is often correct when it comes to such rumors. He also claims that TLoU Remake could release on Holiday 2022 and dev team is capable of making it a reality.

A few weeks ago, a Naughty Dog quality assurance tester accidentally teased an "unannounced remake project" on LinkedIn profile. Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann teased working on multiple game projects earlier this January.

The Last of Us Part 2 has yet to release a multiplayer mode that was previously delayed and ND will reportedly overhaul its online experience. Sources claim that The Last of Us Remake would release with a new Factions multiplayer mode.
