Naughty Dog and Sony Working to Release Last of Us 2 ASAP

Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog reveals that they are working with Sony to release The Last of Us Part II as soon as possible.

Initially having a February release date, upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive title The Last of Us Part II was postponed to May 29 by developer Naughty Dog to finish development and maintain a certain standard for better experience.

Due to recent global events caused by COVID-19 pandemic, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to delay TLoU2 indefinitely but Naughty Dog and Sony are putting best of their efforts to release the game as soon as possible.

People are forced to stay in self-isolation these days because of Coronavirus outbreak, which is hurting business of all industries. Naughty Dog is still working on The Last of Us sequel, fixing bugs but a release date is still uncertain.

Sony states that anyone who pre-ordered their copies through PlayStation Store can receive purchase refunds, which came shortly after officially announcement of its indefinite delay since players may have to wait longer than expected.

Naughty Dog and Sony has long-awaited for the release of The Last of Us Part II, which is likely to become a guaranteed-hit. So, these companies are trying to do everything in their power to get TLoU2 to players as quickly as they can.

While still busy in development, Naughty Dog vice president and game director Neil Druckmann has recently posted on social media update on their continued effort with Sony to get The Last of Us 2 out in the market for players ASAP.

Concerns over COVID-19 have almost jeopardized Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake release lately. In some case, retailers were unsure whether customers will receive their copies on launch day and had to ship early.

Unless authorities can confirm when it will be safe to end worldwide lockdown, no one can promise employee safety and since there is no set release window for The Last of Us Part II, it has many fans concerned as they are all left in dark.
