Mega Man 11 Release Date Leaked

During the 30-year anniversary of Capcom's beloved Blue Bomber Mega Man, the company announced the return of their hero with Mega Man 11 last year. The game was about to release later some time in 2018 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, it seems that before the developer/publisher could make an official announcement on a release date or show us some trailer at E3, a screenshot from PS4 system has leaked the date for all.

Apparently, ahead of all declarations, Mega Man 11 was already being listed in PlayStation Store and it was posted on Twitter with a snapshot. Then Twitter user @Wario64 shared that Tweet with full description of the game as well. Obviously, Sony had to interfere and remove the listing from their server for now but it was too late as the cat is already out of the bag.

According to the leaked screenshot, worldwide release date of Mega Man 11 was set for October 3, 2018. Only a month ago, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 featuring all eight games from Mega Man X series was announced in celebration of their 30 years' anniversary. So, it was really exciting for us to know when we can expect the game to come out, because it's been so long since the last title from the series was dropped and we seriously cannot wait any longer at this point.

Mega Man is arguably one of Capcom's most popular and longest running series as well as the hero, who also goes by the name Rock Man in Japan. After making his debut on Famicom and NES system in 1987, the franchise has rolled over to many other platforms and spawning many sequels. An interesting clue from the description image was the mention of a “Double Gear system”, meaning they are probably planning to tweak some new gameplay mechanics as well.

For now, we can rely on @Wario64's Tweet as it was a direct screenshot from PSN store and not some hidden clue. Besides, he occasionally does reveal great news on video games and related media. Last time we checked, he even posted an animated GIF version of leaked teaser for RAGE 2 weeks ago. All we need now is a confirmation from Capcom soon to hold onto that date.
