Call of Duty: Warzone Adds Solos Mode

Infinity Ward officially adds Solos mode today in current rotation of available game modes for Call of Duty: Warzone.

Within first 24 hours of release, free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone by developer Infinity Ward and Raven Software has drawn over six million players and by fourth day, that number reached more than 15 million.

Warzone initially launched with three-player squads play last week and many were constantly requesting for a solos mode. Infinity Ward closely listened to community feedback and has added a solos mode today for all lone warriors.

Operators can now go by themselves throughout Verdansk and standard rules of battle royale will be in place for Solos. However, Gulag system will only redeploy squads and you are done for good if you are taken out in a 1v1 gunfight.

Though going solo against 149 other players may be a tough challenge for many, some people love those odds. Drop into a remote area to prepare for survival and build your loadout before engaging rival players in an intense firefight.

Since there are no teammates to watch your back, you would be wise to keep self-revive kits or buy Stations for yourself. Try to confirm kills or risk enemy operators coming back from zero health using kit of their own to get back at you.

Battle royale games have been a popular genre in recent years and therefore, Warzone had no trouble picking up steam. In 2018, publisher Activision saw similar hype with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 last-man standing mode Blackout as well.

Although gaining immense popularity among fans, Warzone had a large download size and lacked in variation of game modes. Solos have been a much-anticipated mode and Infinity Ward really surprised all players by rolling it out so quickly.

Call of Duty: Warzone stands out as biggest battle royale game out there on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. Apparently, developers are currently testing out four and five-player squad matches to introduce in a future update.

Warzone would pit up to 150 players of tier 1 level operator against each other for intense battles over a broad map. At start, you can form trio squads with friends across two exciting game modes; Battle Royale and Plunder.

Your goal is to be last squad standing for battle royale as a circle of deadly gas rapidly closing in to engulf you. Plunder mode sets you on a race to collect cash from rival players while trying to complete some in-match contracts.

Both of Battle Royale mode and Plunder will take place on dense and expansive city map of Verdansk with 300 points of interests. Try and change your drop location often to get advantage in engagement or better land layout.

Warzone features a number of vehicles to give you a ride to fast evade gas circle and varied level of protection. Pick from ATV, cargo truck, SUV, tactical rover for means of transport for your squad on land or ride a helicopter on air.

After first elimination at battle royale, players are thrown into Gulag, where prisoners engage in fight to death. If you can defeat an opponent in 1v1, then you are deployed back or your squad mates will have to bail you out with in-match cash.

There are objective focused tasks across Verdansk that a group of trio can activate and complete for rewards. CoD: Warzone is a standalone experience separate from Modern Warfare and it features cross-platform support as well.

Call of Duty: Warzone goes live tomorrow for anyone to download and play for free over all major platforms. PS4 console owners with an active Playstation Plus membership will get an exclusive Warzone Combat Pack for free.

Modern Warfare May Have Teased Warzone Battle Royale Release Date

Battle Royale mode Warzone for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare seem to be arriving very soon.

Earlier this month, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision kicked-off Season 2 of first-person shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and hinted players of an upcoming battle royale mode through an in-game cinematic trailer.

Shortly afterwards a gameplay footage was leaked on Reddit and now even developers have start teasing its release date that players have found in two different Easter eggs within newly added Gunfight map Bazaar and in Piccadilly map.

Following recent release of Modern Warfare update 1.15, players found a date "03/03" on a plate of a tank, which aligns with some past reports of a set launch date next week, for battle royale mode Warzone to arrive on March 3.

Infinity Ward usually rolls out all of their latest changes and updates for Modern Warfare on Tuesdays and therefore, March 3 date seems legit. Few other sources have claimed for that date to be March 10, which is also Tuesday.

First clue for anticipated Warzone mode release date came from newest inclusion of Bazaar map from update 1.15.

Also, previously included "Classified" section of in-game main menu now shows a "Transmission Incoming" screen. This only hint to a closer reveal window for Warzone mode than anyone expected and we are likely to hear more about it soon.

Many are theorizing that Warzone will initially lunch as battle royale mode for Modern Warfare online multiplayer shooter and will get a free-to-play version release on a later date for all players who didn't purchase CoD: MW base game.

Another hint was pointed out on multiplayer map Piccadilly, on a cinema poster for upcoming film "War Beast".

Piccadilly multiplayer map features advertisement for a fictional movie titled "War Beast", which has a March 3 release date and it could very well be a coincidence since this poster was there from very beginning, even before Warzone leaks.

It could also be that Infinity Ward has sneaked in this little Easter egg planning Warzone release prior to launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and probably that is why Activision was so determined to find battle royale leak sources earlier.

Modern Warfare Season 2 Trailer Hints at Battle Royale

In-game trailer for Season 2 suggests Battle Royale mode is coming soon to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Long-awaited Season 2 of first-person shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has finally arrived from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision, which hints at game modes, maps, operators and tease at more content.

Return of operator Simon "Ghost" Riley and fan-favorite classic multiplayer Rust map in Season 2 Battle Pass is truly exciting. Though highly requested battle royale mode has not debuted yet, enough in-game hints were left out there.

Modern Warfare drops series of hints for a possible battle royale mode through an in-game cinematic trailer.

In opening shot of the trailer, three soldiers walk in to an airport terminal like area and one of them gets shot out of nowhere. His attacker finishes up with another bullet to the head and gets killed by remaining soldiers in return fire.

They talk about a gas closing in and move out before Ghost appears from above, contacting Captain Price telling something is wrong in Verdansk. Telling his boss to send some fighters that he can trust, Ghost moves out of there promptly.

Viewers are then shown a larger location resembling to Terminal map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. There are ongoing firefights throughout entire area being covered in green gas and four soldiers in parachute jumps down a plane.

This minute-long teaser could very much likely to be an early sneak peek in battle royale for CoD: MW. Aside from a huge ruined airport map to explore and fight, there will probably be a new gameplay system for three-player squad.

Following launch of MW Season 2, a known Call of Duty YouTuber has noticed some change made to in-game main menu. In addition to its regular four options, there is a newly added "Classified" section that you can't click on.

Though this latest change is not a direct hint at anything exact but it clearly leaves room to add one in future. According to a now-deleted key-art on Reddit, battle royale mode for Modern Warfare will be called "Call of Duty: Warzone".

YouTuber PrestigeIsKey has posted a recent image of changed Modern Warfare in-game menu on Twitter.

Activision and Infinity Ward has yet to confirm or deny validity of these theories players came up with but if all of these speculations eventually turn out to be true, then developers did right by extending Season 1 longer than expected.

Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently live on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Given all recent hints from dev team and various leaks, an announcement for battle royale mode may come before Season 3 goes live.
