With release of upcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision, fan-favorite Call of Duty franchise is returning to Steam after several years along with other platforms.
Call of Duty seemingly takes a break from annual release cycle next year and will continue from latter years. A latest leak has revealed concept arts for Call of Duty 2024 and upcoming Modern Warfare II ahead of an official announcement.
In a series of recent leaks, Twitter user @RealiityUK shared alleged images of next mainline Call of Duty game and Modern Warfare II reboot. Shortly after posting, their account got suspended due to several DMCA takedowns by Activision.
First leaked image is a multiplayer map called "Grand Prix", which is close to a racing circuit and will have a day/night mode. Second one is known as "Museum", a level from campaign mode of original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009).
Next in line is a location named "Codename: SABA", followed by self-explanatory "Oilfield" map but there isn't much detail out there. Also listed along are Dogtown, Exhume, Fallout, Mountain Town, Narcos and some returning fan-favorite.
Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps Favela, Firing Range, Killhouse and Lighthouse are likely getting re-imagined for modern-day reboot. Few images from Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 was also leaked online, which could take place during Gulf War.
Supposed leaker also posted two screenshots of Treyarch's alleged next game and one of them is called Stealth, possibly a new map. Another one is named Pillage, which could be a hint to cut multiplayer mode for Modern Warfare reboot.
