PlayStation State of Play September 2019

September 2019 episode of PlayStation State of Play stream features latest news on upcoming new PS4 releases.

In order to have their own broadcasting format, Sony Interactive Entertainment came up with State of Play livestream back in March and already released two episodes featuring anticipated titles announcement for PlayStation 4 platform.

Back again today, for a third one filled with updates on new content and game reveals, Sony invites excited players to tune in but be sure to leave any expectation at the door of hearing any updates on next-gen console plans.

Humanity | Announced




Scheduled for launching in 2020, Humanity is a mysterious new game from developer studio Enhance Games about how humans act in big crowds that could be best described as a vivid human behavior simulation for PS4 and PS VR.

Players will be tasked to navigate large groups of people to overcome an obstacle or go through different situations based on "Boids" theory, which dictates how flock of birds are compelled to move to a single direction altogether following instinct.

A reboot to popular Call of Duty sub-series from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision, upcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare amps up the already raised tension to top with its story setting.

In a narrative-based journey, players assume the role of a cube-shaped Mayor to a number of colorful objects who explores a whimsical world interacting with others and have a dance to have a joyful experience of their life.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files | Out Now




Time to get back to Los Angeles of 1940's in seven new cases of neo-noir detective action-adventure L.A. Noire that are build for virtual reality by developer Team Bondi and publisher Rockstar Games, available now on PlayStation VR.

Play as Detective Cole Phelps and experience solving cases on all five desks from original game. You can also go boxing, racing cars or spend time at shooting galleries in new mini-games, specifically designed for its VR mechanics.

When upcoming Hideo Kojima social strand game Death Stranding showed up during State of Play stream, it was to announce a limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro console and it sure was presented in a weird way much like its in-game world.

This custom 1TB PS4 Pro system comes in themed design of the game, a physical copy of the game on Blu-ray discs and packs a translucent orange DualShock 4 controller, which resembled a lot like BB pod for a retail price of $399.99 only.

Afterparty | Launch Trailer




Mixing up elements from renowned pop-culture movies, developer/publisher Night School Studio came up with an idea of an adventure of two best friends and their adventure in Hell after death for upcoming indie adventure title Afterparty.

Instead of burning there for eternity, Milo and Lola decides to get out on and go back to Earth once again, which is near impossible unless of course they can defeat Satan in a drinking game somehow and earn re-entry into the world of living.

PlayStation Plus | October 2019




In anticipation of some groundbreaking revelation of its sequel, The Last of Us Remastered is heading to PlayStation Plus next month, so that players can jump into a post-apocalyptic survival horror adventure with Ellie and Joel.

October 2019 monthly PS Plus lineup also includes baseball game MLB The Show 19 from developer SIE San Diego Studio. This latest edition in MLB series lets you relive and recreate all biggest moments from its sports history.

The Last of Us Part II | Release Date




After production is almost wrapped up, developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed for upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure game The Last of Us Part II to come out in February 21, 2020.

A brief look at the life of an older Ellie is shown where she had gone through a personal tragedy and it changes her into a vengeful person. As she goes to take on a group on her own, her guardian angel Joel came following to back her up.

As expected, a handful of updates on new games heading to PS4 were really great to excite fans in anticipation for a guaranteed good time. It's nice to see Sony focused on many promising IP from indie developers aside from high profile AAA-titles.

The Last of Us Part II was the only title that confirmed by developer Naughty Dog about showing up at State of Play showcase and they revealed an early 2020 dates just as suggested earlier in a ResetEra forum post earlier this year.
